The spacious Wilkes T. Thrasher VFW Post 4848 home sits on the banks of the beautiful Tennessee River.  Ample parking spaces are available for meetings and other functions.  Facilities are available for members planning special occasions.

Our Veterans of Foreign War Post was established February 15, 1957, through the efforts of Bill "Blackie" Reynolds as a new post.

Located on the banks of the beautiful Tennessee River, the post has ample parking space for meetings and events.

It was named after Judge Wilkes T. Thrasher, a member and distinguished judge for Hamilton County.

The post is open to members and their guests seven days a week.   All VFW members are welcome to the hospitality offered here.  Members may invite guests.

Lounge hours are: Monday through Friday--3 PM to 9 PM; Saturday 1 PM to 1 AM; and Sunday Noon to 9 PM.  Dances held each Saturday night feature a live band and guests of post members are welcomed.   A nominal charge is made.    Admission is only $5 per person.

General membership meeting is held the first Thursday of each month at 6 PM, with the Executive Board meeting the preceding Tuesday at 6 PM.
